Last sale of 2014 sees some serious values achieved

With 560 legal pack downloads from their website pre auction, it was always likely that there would be some impressive sales made at Network auctions’ last auction of 2014.

The auction on Thursday 11th December at the Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch was also Network Auctions’ last auction at this venue as their London auctions will be moving just down Park Lane to the Grosvenor House in 2015.

The afternoon started with Richard Worrall of Network Auctions surprising auctioneer and Network Auctions Director Guy Charrison by presenting him with the President’s Award from the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) which Guy had been awarded based on his significant contribution to auctioneering and the promotion of professional standards in NAVA. The large audience joined in by giving Guy a healthy round of applause.

There was no time for Guy to rest on his laurels as the bidding was fast and furious from within the room, by telephone and over the internet.

Several lots achieved phenomenal prices.

Lot one, a site in Stevenage in Hertfordshire sold at £152,000, some 70% higher than the guide price of £89,000.

Lot two, a veterinary practice in Nottingham sold at £65,000, some 35% over the guide price of £48,000.

Lot four, an apartment in Luton let on an AST sold at £79,000, some 43% above the guide price of £55,000 and lot thirty one, another plot of land in Stevenage, sold for £400,000, a remarkable £165,000 and 70% over the guide price of £235,000.

With a move to the Grosvenor House in 2015 and auctions in both London and Birmingham together with the launch of their new E-Auctions service, Network Auctions are looking forward to building on their successes in 2014.

Managing Director Toby Limbrick said: “Auctions are firmly established as a transparent and fast method of sale and our extensive marketing, national network of partner agents and regular London and Birmingham sales, gives sellers the ideal opportunity to maximise the return on their investment.

Our first auction of 2015 will take place on Tuesday 3rd March in London and our first Birmingham sale will be on 11th March. Lots are now being taken for inclusion.”
